Kim Severson and Windsome Adante win The Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event by an unprecedented 17 points!

Kim Severson and Winsome Adante have once again set themselves apart from the field at the 2005 Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. The Olympic silver medallist pair came into the stadium day on their first place dressage score of 38.2; they came through double clear cross country the day before despite the harrowing conditions. Spectators were on the edges of their seats as Kim and Windsome Adante navigated the course with precision and flair. Thunderous applause broke out as the pair crossed the finish line well within the time to secure a lead of 17 points for the US.

Their closest rivals, Phillip Dutton (AUS) on The Foreman, had a rail down to earn a score of 55.2 penalties and a second place. Leslie Law (GBR) and Coup De Coeur from Great Britain came a close third with 55.4 penalties. Law, the 2004 Olympic Gold Medallist, commented that Kim may have been the silver medallist at the Olympics, but her performance at Rolex was simply gold. Of note, Phillip Dutton also placed fourth and fifth on Nova Top and Hannigan respectively.
